Yes, the Honda engine has an engine charging system when the engine is running.

I was considering one of these (WL1200HE) for home backup thru a transfer switch. Can the neutral be un-bonded?

See the operators manual page 11: This WINCO portable generator ships with a bonded
neutral and over-current protection. NFPA 70 refers to this
as a “separately derived system.” When connecting it to a
building, a transfer switch specifically designed for GFCI, and
bonded neutral generators is required. Please consult a licensed electrician for your particular application.
