Jose, your model doesn’t have a voltage regulator in it. It has capacitors for excitation. First you want to confirm your frequency to see if slow engine speed is causing low voltage. If your frequency is around 60 hertz then your most likely cause of low voltage would be a weak capacitor. Thanks for your question.

I just repaired a TF9000E/Q that I purchased for a very low price. The power head did not produce power and I found a short circuited capacitor lead after some investigation. Once I repaired that lead, the power head fired up and worked almost fine. I found that voltage was 119v with NO LOAD, at 3000watts it was 109v. I checked the 3 capacitors and they were 39uF, 40uf and 40uf. Could they still be the source of falling voltage due to their age? I ordered new ones and will retest

still wondering why the voltage drop

I have a 20 year old Dyna 9000 with a 16 hp briggs straton vanguard. good running machine noticing a little loss in electrial power in the house under moderate or heaver load. Also, looking for the best option for an extended run gasoline tank. Is there an external tank that we can attach? would it have to be gravity feed or is there some fuel pump or draw on this unit?

Hi Kurt. The original tank was gravity feed. So if you want to add a larger tank and gravity feed it you should be ok. If you add a tank more than 3 or so feet from the generator you should consider a 12VDC fuel pump be added. 3. Question

    Daniel Tollison

I recently purchased this model and it runs great on gasoline. My question is, what size flexible propane line do I need to run this generator? I will be using a 100 pound propane bottle with a Fisher Type R232 Integral Two Stage Regulator . The propane bottle will be within 8 feet of the generator.
One other question is, what does the Q stand for in the model number. Thanks for your help. Dan

  4. Question

    Steve King

Where is the oil plug on my 9000VE tri fuel that I bought last year located? I have searched and can’t find it. The manual doesn’t show a photo location just that it is under the engine.
