Question
Larry Shaw –
I have an opportunity to buy a PS10WH-3R for $600. I wonder roughly how old it is? Is there any factory support or parts availability? Is there a starter in the same housing as the generator…I don’t see a starter. The fact that this is set up to be run indoors with an exhaust pipe to outside will make installation very easy.

Larry, it was built in the 1970’s. He have very few parts left for that model because of the age. The generator was used as the starter on your model. WARNING: Indoor generator installation laws have changed since the 1970’s, so consult your local building inspector to see if it is legal to install it indoors.

i just picked up a PS10WH-3R/B at an online auction for $30 i hooked it to a 30 pound cylinder of propane from my barbecue grill put a booster pack on it and it started right up the transfer switch works and everything for what i can tell works properly except for the milliammeter gauge I assume I got a really good deal, but I don’t know anything about these kind of life expectancy can somebody have one of these? Is there a value?

Christopher, you can call a few Winco Dealers to get an idea for what a used generator would be worth. Life expectancy is not known because of many variables. Winco generators are built to last.

Question
Tim –
Is there a way to convert a PS10WH-3R from natural gas to propane? Can the carburator be rejetted or does it need a full carb replacement. If so, are parts to do this still avail?

Tim, please follow the instructions in the operators manual on this page. If you have further questions please contact our Technical Support Department, 507-357-8334 or [email protected]. No parts are needed for vapor fuel conversions.

William, the serial number has a date code, a letter for the month followed by the year.
