My generator runs great, but my battery can’t seem to keep a charge. I read in the manual that this model should have a battery tender, but I can’t seem to see any wires / indicator of a tender, and my batteries keep dying & need to be replaced. Do I need to do anything special to get the tender working?

Kurt, your model would have been sold with a Winco transfer switch when it was new. The Winco transfer switch had a trickle charger built into it. The circuit board for the trickle charger is obsolete, so we recommend installing a battery tender near the transfer switch, disconnecting the old charger and using the existing terminals in the transfer switch for the new battery tender. Please contact a local Winco Dealer if you need assistance or call our Technical Support Department @ 507-357-8334.

Thank you!
Here is a picture of my transfer switch: https://imgur.com/a/dejRSeQ — what area should I be looking at? Maybe related, when my power goes out, it currently isn’t automatically transferring, I have to manually go start the generator. So perhaps there is an issue causing the tender not to work as well as the automatic power transfer not to work? Could it be that a fuse needs to be replaced here: https://imgur.com/a/HmzZqG0 would one of these fuses failing cause the tender not to work as well as the automatic transfer not to work?
